Plays and Street Theatre

Plays are ideal for use in schools and at educational events. Guerrilla or street theatre may be used to attract media and consumer attention.

Students at St. Sylvester Catholic School in Scarborough, Ontario wrote and staged a successful play called "Sweatshop Extravaganza." Parts of the play were broadcast on the local CBC morning show in Toronto.
A student at Cardinal Newman High School in Scarborough, Ontario developed a play about Nike called "Swoosh."
Students at the University of Toronto set up a "mock sweatshop" -- complete with fences, sewing machines and guards -- in a prominent student lobby.
Protestors at a local mall performed a "race to the bottom auction" in which leaders bid for a company to move production to their country by promising to lower wages, environmental standards, and taxes.
Teachers can ask their students to write and perform plays about labour rights in class or for school assemblies.
